T4 boot and D300 boot

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone uses the round T4 boot with the rectangle D300 boot? If so are you pleased and do you have a pic?

Yes I have. It's got a flat on the side where it goes against the 300 boot. Not a good pic but you can see it. I replaced this boot about every 10-12 years or so after it develops a tear / crack that can let mice in.

Yes and have had the T4 and now a T5 with the D300, same boots.

Typically the D300 shift boot is screwed to the sheet metal of the tub on the right hand side. I have a Repli-tub made in the Philippines that had the wrong year version of the trans tunnel opening so I made it fit for the later opening and widened it by 1 inch so the D300 shift boot would screw to the new cover I made and not the tub floor.

OEM is pictured below.

Sure, make my pics look like kindergarten crayon drawings!

I did want to add that one time I had gotten a boot, and I don't recall where (prob. Qtec or 4WDinc. or Ariz. Desert Rat), that was the same shape but no folds/pleats, just a smooth side. But that was years ago. And pics on websites can be deceiving. Just sayin'...

Sorry, didn't mean to offend but, there was a lot of wires around said boot and I didn't think it came looking that way from the factory.

Turkish6, if you plan on buying the aftermarket Crown boot, don't waste your time. They are a POS and belong in the trash. The OEM boots are still available from the dealer and cost a little more but they will last 30+ years instead of 30 days before tearing. P/N: J575 2010

They can also be bought here as well: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CJ-Laredo-Je...item51b68ee6e3

x2 on getting the OEM boots.

Mine are 33 years old, and still look like new.

+ 87 on the aftermarket boots. Turk I'd still order an OEM one. The aftermarket are temporary at best.
