T-5 trans help

was wondering if a gm or ford T-5 would fit my 83 CJ7, mine took a dump thanks

You might get lucky, but there were hundreds of variations on the T-5. You would need the correct input and output shaft lenght, diameter, and spline count. You would just be better getting yours rebuilt (if you are keeping the Jeep a while) or finding a suitable used tranny (cruise the forums).
