I did pretty much same build on my '80 CJ...except went with Clifford intake and matching header with a Holley 2 barrel & HEI distributor. LOVE IT...I have been driving it everyday for over a year, sometimes 100miles in a day running 60 to 70mph rolling on 36"s with no problems at all...you will def be happy! Also I put in new radiator with electric fan just to make sure, runs cool all the time even pulling a trailer with a atv on it...

Got some more done, had to really modify the power steering bracket to clear my header.

There's an adapter that goes between your skid and tranny on the auto's that your missing.

transfer case is in, rebuild cost was 175.00. They said it didn't anything but seals and gaskets and looked good inside. got it in tonight, doing all this solo is kicking my ***. I struggled getting that sucker in and had to let it go once. new drive shafts for sure, but we all knew that. I was at least hoping the rear would bolt up enough to drive it up to the exhaust shop.

Just got my driveshaft back from arrow truck in Detroit they had to cut it down from 24.25 to 21.5. 38 bucks out the door! Yeah!!!

Very cool. I'm diggin' your Jeep

You might see if you can get the bypass on your filter pointed slightly uphill, too. Make sure it's a 12 o'clock. Can't wait to hear it.

Nice catch, I'll do that for sure. I planned on cutting the metal back a bit anyway and get rid of the last bend

This is what the auto trans mount looks like. The "M" bracket and torque plate. Under that plate is the rubber mount. Large hole on the left side is for the torque arm. Finding those steel brackets may be challenging.

Got jeep running, break in last week. This week has been getting the trans shifting right. I installed a Lokar kick down cable and still getting shift points adjusted. I haven't really updated this post on time but it didn't show much interest. Video to follow of engine running soon

Nice looking setup.

My only critique is your modified fuel line. The reason for the steel line from the pump, running over the top of the valve cover, is to prevent heat from rupturing the rubber fuel line. I'd be leery of your setup.
