Summit- tires backordered... AGAIN!
I need help determining what to do about tires. I ordered tires (rims, center caps, lug nuts, mounted and balanced pkg) from Summit about 6 weeks ago. The tires are backordered. I was told Aug 3, then Aug 31, now the order says Sept 12. I called Summit and spoke with a rep. HE called BFG, and BFG says they will go into production next week, but it will be another 6 weeks before they ship!!!!! The tires are paid for. These are the BFG All Terrain KOs. The size is right, the price is right. Not blaming Summit, I just need to know what alternatives are present. I don't want mud grips. Needs to be a 33. Nothing wider than 10.5, 9.0 is preferrable. 15" rims. The tech guy recommended the Bajas at $650 EACH! My tires are $172 each. I gotta stay in that price range. Any suggestions from anyone? Looking for an all-terrain tread, or dual-purpose tread.
Thanks

Cancel the order and go with Discount or Big O. That way if you have a problem, you can just go right down to the store, pretty much no matter what state you are in and get it taken care of. I would say if you buy them from Summit or the like, its going to be a ***** getting stuff fixed, warrantied, etc. Discount will match or beat any online price I believe. One of the tire chains can at least search their warehouses and other stores.

We don't have either in this area! But surely there is someone who has these tires in stock. Summit tech was flip about it, and I didn't like that.

This is the deal I made...

Yes... both. Just got done with Tire Rack, which I will add, was a decent site. Both Discount and TR won't have this tire available until late Sept. Looking at other brands, but not too many choices in 33x10.5x15!

As in "Yo iz de Manjer" or "my local tire store"? Because if it is YOUR tire store, I will buy them from you!

You might check, and I don't care for either. SAMs club or Walmart.
Check Craig'slist and tire stores for new car take offs.
Whatever tire you look at be sure it has plenty of siping, this is best for wet roads.

Ahhhh....I meant like my local Discount store shows them available on 8/23. If it was my store, I would be 10 toes up on the beach right now....not sweating my bag *** off in AZ.
I have no affiliation with Discount....sorry.

FWIW, I second the GYSA idea. I run these on my 4runner and they are great as a mostly road, some dirt and definitely snow tire. I have 255/75/17, which i believe is about a 32.2x10.5, I don't know what they'd have in a 15 in wheel, but I'd look around...

Thanks Guys. I will do some research and post back what I find. IIRC, the GYSA didn't come in a 15". Man, I don't want to go through this tire hassle again. It makes my head hurt!
