strange lettering on a cj5

I found a CJ5 at a jeep dismantler place in Indiana and thought that the lettering on the side of the tub seemed strange. It had JEEP spelled out in all caps inline with the top of the lower door hinge. has anyone seen this before? Sorry I didn't get any pics.
More info on the jeep..... they say it is a 76 and has a chevy v8 conversion and it has SOA. It appears to have Dana axles.
Serial number.... 8503 180971
I was curious if the tub is aftermarket or something else. It looked like someone started some body work on it before this place got it. its pretty stripped now.

I can't find a good picture, but that's normal for a Kaiser Jeep

Here we go:

What years did the Jeep stampings change? I know that there was that one in all caps, then in about the same position but a different font and only the J was capitalized. I know '76-mid 84 was Jeep lower on the panel then from then on to '95 it was Joop. I swear that I've seen pics of some '75's with the Jeep in the lower position like the '76 and up has though.

'85 CJ-7 Laredo currently under construction.

Jeep does not allow after market tubs to say Jeep on them. That CJ5 was from 55-71 someone must have put a early tub on a 76.

I have a buddy who just got a CJ7 tub and had to pay $200 extra for the Jeep stamped in it.

He only paid for it because he said he knew I would notice it.

i don't know too much about the older jeeps but does the serial number coincide with a 76 or with an older one? I don't know if it matters but it still had the fuel fill under the driver's seat

walkerhoundvm, that red jeep you posted looks just like it.

I think up til '72 they were JEEP. My '74 says Jeep and some of the later models say Joop.

Either that or someone is mistaken on the year. The gas filler under the seat went away in mid-1970.
