Most likely you have a narrow trac setup with a dana 30 in the front and an amc20 in the rear.

Noob aleart!
Okay, I'm picking up my '82 CJ-7 Laredo tomorrow (seriously excited!). Now, I've been browsing these forums off and on for awhile now, but previously more on the Libby forums since thats what my wife drives. My CJ is 95% stock. So, given that, how does one tell the axle make, width, etc? At this point, I'd love to educate myself with the basic buildouts from the factory and work from there. The one thing I do have decent numbers on is the engine, since my gramps (the Jeep has been his for more than two decades now) is rather adept with engine mechanics and has spent some time under the CJ's hood. Thanks ahead of time for the input! I've been trying to dig up some baseline info, but even that is hard to find it seems. -K
