Stock rim sizes

I have found a set of 15 X 7 inch stock rims I would like to buy.

I have 31 X 10.5 X 15 tire that I like the size of.

To the best I can tell (no tire store still has a set of old tire calipers (they all have the new machines with the measurements built in)). The rims they are mounted on are 15 X 8 rims.

Did Jeep make 15 X 8 stock chrome rims?

Should I keep looking?

15x7 rims are fine for a 31x10.50. That's what I've been running on my Jeep since the mid 90's.

The 15x8 rims came on the pre-widetrac axles. I think 81 was the only year of OEM 15x8 chrome wheels with the "Jeep" center caps. Pre 81 rims were 15x8 but no center caps or holes for mounting center caps. 82-up were 15x7 with center caps.

Likely 235x75x15, which is about the same as a 30x9.50x15. My 85 Renegade came with white spoke wheels and 235/75/15. Dad's 85 Scrambler came with base wheels (15x6, no spokes, white painted steel) with 205/75/15.

Any idea of manufacture or tread pattern?

I actually still have the 205's on the stock rims in the shop. They were Michelins. I can take pics if you want, but I figure you're more interested in the spoke wheel tires. The 235/75/15's that came on the spoke rims were Goodyear Wranglers.

Look like this.

Pretty sure they don't make that exact tire anymore, but they make one that is similar.

From this thread (you really outta register over there to see pics. Lot of guys over there are fountains of knowledge when it comes to original stuff on CJ's)

Yeah, guess it won't let me link directly to the pic.

Go here, scroll down to tires and wheels, and the CJ wheels with tires are about 1/2 way through the wheels section.

Got it thanks

The stock chrome rims I was going to purchase did not pan out, still looking after 2 years.

Although the wheels look very nice in the Fee-Bay action, the chrome is peeling in actual pictures the seller sent.
