It is so unfair that American Motors sold their best vehicle (Overlanders) ONLY for export.

Awesome rides Gazzo. No cannabalizing Overlanders. It's against the rules.

Noted! We already worked that out, once the "separated at birth" twins were reunited in my shop we pretty much knew we couldn't drive two in and only bring one out. I'm going to work it so we do the FULL Overlander deal, world cab and all on one of them.
Any of you guys know where there's a CJ8 going cheap over there?

Here is my 1985 Laredo. I'm the third owner. I've kept it as stock as possible with the exception of a few conveniences such as Mopar fuel injection, r134 A/C and Homelink garage door opener. The interior is 95% original. The only thing replaced was the driver side seat bottom. I repainted it the original 3C Garnet Red. It has a 258 6Cyl, T-176, Dana 300. Factory air, cruise, tilt intermittent wipers, and fog lights. I don't have the window sticker but I have the original build sheet.

Wow, lugnut! Nice looking jeep. Thanks for posting, I had an 86 in that exact same trim package when I was younger, brought back a lot of fond memories!

What a shame to look back only 30 years ago and see what we could buy brand new. Jeep saw the dollar signs and listened to the "bigger, faster, more comfortable, softer ride, more power options crowd." Now I have to buy a $13,000 Kawasaki Mule if I want a new utility vehicle, and I can't drive it on the road. Thats one reason I am selling my Lj since I got my Cj6.

Looks great Bubback.

Someday I need to buy original CJ seats again for mine. They were the first things to go as they had torn and the drivers side back rest frame broke also. Back seat came apart from deterioration too.

Yeah, they [orig seats] really are the bees knees. For a stationary seat, I've never sat in anything more comfortable. I got lucky with this one; the seats are in 85% condition. My drivers side though, is starting to show its age so I'll have to swap it for the pass, but its mostly the bolstering and padding that're wearing out. I plan on getting it re-stuffed and upholstered someday. Does anyone have an extra original SEAT SLIDER (bracket) they could part with and ship to MS 39564??? <<<sorry for hi-jacking the thread.
