I do not know what came stock on a 77. My 75 had a MC2100 stock that someone replaced with a Holley. I gave the Holley away and installed another 2100.. The 2100 is readily available and works offroad.. Since then I installed a TBI system this summer and that is the ultimate as far as I am concerned..

So you're looking to replace whatever carb you have on now, with the stock '77 carb? Any reason you want the stock one? What carb do you have now? The stock was likely the Carter, but you do have options at arguably better carburetors for your 258

To be more specific, it was probably a Carter YF one barrel carb. If it was 2bbl it would have been a Carter BBD (non-computer controlled version).

V-8 304 or Straight Six 258 engine. The 304 would have the Motorcraft 2100 or 2150 on it. It's a good carb. Some people put them on their 258's, but that's not stock.

inline 6 according to his profile.

I just swapped out my Carter BBD for the 2150.

2100 or 2150 just need the spacer/adapter and you are ready to go.

Not necessarily. This works if the existing carb is a 2bbl carb, but most likely it is a 1bbl.

sorry.. gender wasn't mentioned in your profile.

post some pics of your carb and engine bay so we can better understand what you have, and then understand what you want.

ps.. lived in Eugene for 5 yrs earlier this century. Still have plenty of friends out there as well. Lovely place to live. and GO DUCKS!

I think there is a limit on posting pictures untill you have enough posts. Say.....20?

This isn't a great reference but it does show the throttle side of a carter BBD and it's adjustments.
