Steering is loose, wanders back and forth

86 cj-7 4.5" rubicon lift, 33" tires, all the steering components have been replaced, except the box (dosent look like alot of play in it) its going in for an alignment today just wondering if shimming the front axle will make a difference?

It might, especially if the castor angle is off. Look for 3-4 degrees of castor after shimming.
