Steering knuckle swap..disk brakes CJ5 '75

Hi folks,
Been playing around with this idea for a while but haven't gone to the junkie to do some measuring.
Thinking about putting disc brakes on the front of My CJ. There are all kinds of expensive conversion kits BUT can I just (will it fit) pull the steering knuckles from a '77 CJ with discs and put them on my '75? Is it as simple as taking out the upper and lower ball joints and sliding the newer knuckle with the disc brake flanges on it?
