Starting Problems

I've got an 85 CJ-7 w/ a 258 6. The engine
runs fine, but doesn't start well. Sometimes
it will kick in fine, but most of the time
it takes 15-30 seconds on the starter. Then
some coughing and whatnot. Once it starts,
everythings great. Any suggestions or
comments would be great.

Thanks,

Mike

I would check your idle mixture, and maybe timing? does it kinda bog down when you crank? if it does, the timing is advanced too much. or it could be retarded too much? Just a thought...maybe try new plug wires and plugs.
