Really, think about it. Who could afford this stuff if they were retired or laid off. I'm still working and can't afford it. Hasn't stopped me though.

It took me 6 trips to the auto parts store, 3 miles each way, to finally get the right length belt. However, today was a beautiful day and the trips on the little Honda are just plain fun.

Finally got the belt mocked up.




And did some more engine assembling.





TIRES COMING TOMORROW! She should be on her feet by the end of the week.

Awesome day today!

The tires came! YaHoo! Pictures do not do these things justice. They are way more knarlier in real life. So much so that I had second thoughts about getting such an aggressive tire. But that only lasted a minute. lol





I figured I would spoon them on and get them balanced later. So after about 30 minutes of wrestling...................They still looked like this.



I gave up and dropped them off at my tire guy. I'll pick them up in the morning.



The 110 amp 3G alternator came in today. Painted it clear to stop corrosion. That thing will have plenty of power for the winch and extra lights I won't have.





The bushings came in for the tie rod flip. That didn't go so well. It said to drill a 3/4 inch hole and put the bushings in. Well I did. But the drilled hole is more than 3/4 inch so the bushings sat a tad too low and I had to get creative but it worked out. Ideally they should be reamed to 3/4 and they would have been perfect.





And I flipped the frame over so I can put the axles in tomorrow.

Got lucky with mine I guess. Drilled .750 and they just slipped in. Then put some short tig welds to hold them.

An explosion of progress today! I hit it hard for 12 hours and things are going good.


The axles turned into a wrestling match. I tried to use racket straps over my shoulders to move them to the Jeep. Too old for that. The floor jack approach was going nowhere fast, so I had to run down and borrow my son's engine hoist. That did the trick.

I know I already posted this pic, but I am so happy they are installed I'm gonna post it again.





Called the tire shop and the tires were done. I had my truck battery on charge most of the morning cuz the alternator stopped working 2 days ago. So it was good to make the 12 mile round trip. No time to fix the truck, this week is for the Jeep.

I put the tires on, and while I had the engine hoist I dropped the motor in, as I finished it up today too.

AND, just to prove a point I pushed it half way out of the garage, and then back in, so I can say "IT ROLLS."













Looks like a little tractor to me.



Back is aching, all tired out, but what a good day it was! Tomorrow I'll work toward getting the clutch, bell housing and maybe the trans in. Super Winch hubs came today too. I'll get them on for sure.
