Soft doors will not stay closed

I am new to the Jeep community. I just purchased a 1983 CJ7. This forum is great, I have already learned so much.

I did a search but could not find an exact solution.

I found a pair of full soft doors on CL for $150. I picked them up, brought them home, dusted them off and put them on the jeep, but they would not latch shut. The jeep came with a set of hard doors, which work fine.

I attached some pictures.

Thanks in advance for any info/advice.

You need a different striker for the soft doors. They look like this. Rob

Thanks. Will I have to remove the Hard Door Strike?

Yes, or at least the directions that come with the soft doors state that you do. Three screws on the inside of the tub I believe. I did not have hard door strikers on mine before but I can see where the screw holes are. Rob
