SOA axle wrap example video

I just ran across this and it's the clearest video I've ever seen showing the problems with axle wrap. I like the way the tiny track bar that got added later in the video fails completely.

Enjoy!

Those videos were painful to watch.. Amazing how high those pinions were climbing. I'm surprised they didn't bind/snap the ujoints.

Just think of the pressure on the ring & pinion gears. I can see why you should try to get all of your gearing in the trans/transfer case. I went with 4.56 gears in mine and was surprised at how small the pinion is. Makes me think...

There is a lot of force going on back there. I recently changed the rear mounts on my anti wrap bar from bushings, to heim joints. The bushing would just tear apart, and the tube that held the bushing would end up egg shaped.

Wow, I thought that one was gonna go thru the floorboards!

Issues I saw on a lot of the though was how the springs were set up soft and a couple shots they looked negative arched already, and the one the bottom leaf looked installed upside down...

Most springs tend to look like that after a couple years of abuse in a SOA setup. They just flat out take a beating (no pun intended).

If you plan on going SOA build a good traction bar

Not like the one shown in the video
