Smoke from Carb?

82 CJ 7 when I shut it off I notice smoke coming out top of the carb? Is this normal?

The smoke is coming out the top just underneath the air filter. If I take the filter off smoke comes out top
of carb for 30 sec to 1 min after shutting jeep off. It seems to be running normal though? Any ideas? Some one told me it could be just a little extra gas burning off after shutting it off? Thanks.

Most likely it's fuel leaking into the intake that is causing the smoke.

The source of the leak could be a worn needle and seat, a small crack in the float bowl, a warn throttle shaft, or too much fuel pressure.

Good luck,
