Holy paint fumes, Batman!! Even with a respirator, that's some nasty stuff! I'm glad I'm done smelling auto paint for a while.
The Ol' Girl is all painted, and shining like a diamond. The last coat went on this morning. I'll probably let the paint cure for a few days before I start putting her all back together. I'm waiting on new door seals from Quadratec, anyway.
Here's are a few shots. It's not show room quality, but it ain't too shabby for a noob in a garage.
Great job I recently bought a CJ / YJ hybrid with most of the rejuvination work done, but it does need paint. Have been tearing my hair out trying to decide on a color........ White is on the short list. I'm really interested to see where you go from here. Now, I'm really motivated!
SJM85CJ7, my garage is far from heated. I've been using a cheesy little electric space heater. I just drag it around to whatever spot I'm working. That, and I usually have about 4 layers on under my coveralls.
Unfortunately, my wife is getting impatient to have her garage space back, so I guess my workshop will be going away, soon.
shum8, I'm glad to provide you some motivation. I struggled with color selection, too. Ultimately, I chose not to disassemble and repaint my dash. It's all original and in almost perfect shape. Consequently, I decided to stick with the original AMC Olympic white to match the dash.
