Are Silverstar H6024ST considered H4s (need relay)?

Hi all --

Such a simple question is stumping me. Are Silverstar H6024ST considered H4 headlights? I already have the headlights and am wanting to do the headlight relay upgrade to boost the output.

I've found this one on eBay (states it is for an H4):

If that one doesn't work for my H6024ST's, could someone point me to a harness that would work? Thanks!

The silverstar is definetly not an H4 bulb. That doesn't mean that the bases are different. That harness might work out ok. I woud head on down to the local parts store and compare the bases. The painless harness listed in the link, says it works for dual filament sealed beams or H4's. You could buy an awful lot of them for the cost of the painless.

That kit looks like it would work just fine for the silverstars. For 'any' light stronger than an old style bulb, you need a relay in the CJ's or the headlight switch and dimmer switches burn out. That would be the halogen bulbs like the silverstars you now find more common than the normal bulbs.

Nice price, but I wonder what gauge the wiring is. I think that they should have included that in the description if it is of suitable sizing over stock sizing..

I'd be afraid that it is only the thin stuff like you get with aftermarket driving lights. What is that, 18g?
