9V battery, some seriously high ohm resistors and a couple white (or amber) LED's (tiny little ones, low power). Or you could use a couple resistors, an old cell phone charger and a couple small LED's.
That's what I'm doing when I change out my non-functioning speedometer.

made this in memory to my mom, got the cj about a month and half after she passed as a project to get my dad occupied on something other than the loss of my mom. also kinda cool that her name was Carol Jane, so thats what we named her.

Yahwhy - That's awesome! I've always wished my Dad was around to help on my projects, I knew he'd get a kick out of it, but he passed away before I really started on building any projects. This Jeep I have now is because of him - he had one when I was a kid, and my sister and I loved riding with him when he plowed the driveway.
