Should I buy It?

I heard about a WWII willys MB that has been modifyed with stock 1978 CJ 7 running gear.
I have not seen it & I know nothing about jeeps...yet.
I have heard that the old jeeps had narrower axles then the later ones.
Does anyone know if the CJ 7 axles would stick out to far...in other words look funny ...kinda like a cartoon?
I am looking to drive it around town as well as out in the fire roads of the local national forest & maybe try a little rock crawling.
I figure these CJ 7 axles would be stronger than the WWII axles,& maybe more driveable on the street.
I value your opinion on this...again,I am just learning & looking for a good first project.
Thankyou for your time...Tom

the axles off the 78 would be the narrow track axles. not sure how they would measure up to the stock axles off that WWII jeep, but post some pics! i wanna see this creation too.
