My '85 doesn't have one, but the engine was replaced by the PO and they probably left it off. I'll get one when it warms up in the spring.

Of course the 79 didn't have one but I happed to have a tank from a Dodge Avenger so I made a bracket on the fender and hooked up the hose and now I have a tank.

The cap to use with an expansion tank (vented cap) has a small button in the center of the gasket portion.

That button is loose fitting until hot coolant causes it to pull tight agianst the gasket. That is how it vents the air/ excess coolant from thermal expansion back to the tank....When it cools down and the coolant shrinks in volume it draws some of the coolant from the tank back into the rad through that button.
