Cleaned mine out this last weekend and organized it.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match!

Nice, I like the light standoffs, I used 3/4 conduit and threaded rod to do mine.

I'm getting ready to redo the lights. I have seven of the 5 tube fluorescent flush lights I'm going to install. Got sun tan lotion?

I have five 8 foot two tube cold start fixtures. They all come on with a wall switch, but have pull chains on two so I can shut them of if not needed, works well for me and my old eyes, I can not see as well as I used to in dark conditions.

I was advised to do the 8' lights with the T2(?) bulbs. I chose 4 footers for ease of bulb disposal, and I put in twice as many. It was a mistake! The 8 footers are MUCH brighter.

T-12 lamps are going away. The Feds are trying to save energy. You can still get T-8 tubes and ballasts but the T-12 ballasts are not sold in the US any longer and lamp manufacturers are burning through the stock they have and not making any more. You also may not be talking apples to apples Skerr as alot of the old T-12 8' fixtures came in HO(high output) and VHO (very high output). Did the 8 footers you saw that are much brighter have 1 or 2 pins on the ends? Then you also start getting into lamp temp/color rendering a standard 7350 temp lamp is going not put out as bright of a pattern as a 8500 lamp.

Not sure I gave the correct bulb number. They are the skinny bulbs with 2 pins.

I don't know how some guys do this sort off stuff in a home garage. Hats off to you. We are using almost all of 200 square metres of workshop and were still tripping over everything
