Shock question

Well i am getting ready to put a set of shocks on my jeep and was wondering what you all thought would be a good set to go with. I have got a 4" lift and some shackles on my rig and it will be part dd part wheelin rig so would like something that is good qualitly to put on it.

Thanks,
Ben

^X2^, The Rancho's 9000's have a selectable knob so you can adjust the ride smothness/roughness. My 80 is down right now for a frame offso I don't remember what settings I used but whenever we were going out to trail ride just stiffen it up and go For a little more money you can buy a switch to mount on the dash so you can make the change the setting on the fly.

Not trying to steal your thread but though it would be a good place to ask
I'M also ready to put shocks on my build problem I'm having is I have no idea what or how much lift is on it.(when I bought this cj7 in 1989 I was told it was a heavy duty plow package never heard of that but anyway)
I have asked before on this site and others if there was a way to figure out the amount of lift knowing it would help with shock and tire choices.
-
I find very little info on any of companies web sites about length of the shock they all just say this fits a 82-86 cj7 with 4" lift or this fits 82-86 with no lift and so on. that's no help if you don't know the lift amount.
-
today I took some part #'s to the parts store and we cross the #'s with brands they sell to measure them. not much luck finding anything.

What size tires on it it now? What are the part numbers you have? Do you know the manufacturer? Military wrapped springs or not? Any and all info will help trying to decide what lift you have.

I put 32x11.5x15 on it with tons of room
-
On the front it measures 16.5" c/c from shock mount to shock mount.
back measures just over 19" c/c the back is setting high right now because there is no hard top on it or rear bumper.

ps the springs are military wrapped.
Thanks

I'm running the 9000s on my 86 CJ and love 'em. I keep mine set on 3 for street use and turn it up when I wheel it. I didn't spend the money for the dash switch, too cheap, but I probably will at some point.
