shaft has alot of play where it enter steering box HELP PLEASE

1980 cj7 the shft has alot of play where it enters the steering box it is drivable but you better be paying attention when you drive lots of play im assuming this is the cause.... how do i fix it, im fairly mechanically inclined.... any help would be appreciated

you can buy parts for that, its probably just worn. It consists of a new seal, the retaining blocks, and the clip. Numbers 5 or 6 may be what you are looking for

It's all easy, but greasy! EXCEPT the clip. That thing can be a mother to put back in. It's a spring clip that goes inside the bell.

Murph PS anybody know a trick for this clip?
