I thought some photos might help so i went out and snaped a few.

that is the upper joint it keeps sliding off the spline while driving(very scary) and i was curious id anything looked out of order.

this is the lower joint. i know it is hard to see but the view point is from below the box looking up the shaft. i cannot figure out how to remove this end from the box.

sorry for the poor pic quality but i couldn't figure out how to shrink them and it is my camera phone. only 1.3 megapixels

it looks like you dont have the bolt through the ident/retainer on the steering column. slide the shaft off the column and make sure the bolt is slipped through the indent and that it is large enough to keep it from slipping off.

to remove the shaft from the box you have to remove the bolt that clamps it down and slide it out so it is not running through the indent. spray it with some pb blaster or something, i use a tie rod fork to lever it out a little and then it slids right off.
