Seats in a CJ

I am looking for replacement seats. I had the idea of using some marine grade low back seats. They are made for the environment, sun, water, etc. Granted not to many marine seats look like car seats but I have seen a few.
Or
I was looking at the seats from Summit that are the hard plastic high back racing style and the covers are vinyl and foam. Probably not the best padding but pretty indestructable. These also work well with a harness type belt. The replacement covers are pretty inexpensive too. These run about $75 a seat with covers.

I think anything is better than what I have now!

In a CJ-what? If it's for the 75 CJ-5 in your sig, the high-backs will mean your under-seat toolbox will be unusable.

You can find a lot of seats in the junkyard that will fit and they will be a lot more comfortable (and cheaper) than the hard plastic things.

Mine are from a 98 sunfire.

I got some out of an old Nissan van. they were the rear captian chairs. THey are great because they had the seat belts attached to them and they have folding arm rests. Go the junk yard and look at whats out there, you might find some really cool seats.

I may look in the salvage yard for a set. Putting new expensive seats in my rig (at this time) just does not make sense. I am not too concerned about the under the seat tool box.

Thanks

What about some vinyl highbacks from a YJ? They have some lateral support and recline (I think?).

Or do you really just want lowbacks? Levi Edition CJ-5 seats might work for you. The material is pretty durable.
