Seatbelt/Hardtop/Roll Bar Bushings on a CJ8...

...I have exposed threads from the seatbelt bolts and need to install bushings between the back of the cab and the roll bar. My guess is the gap is about 3/4".

I've seen rubber bushings everywhere, but I'm very hesitant to use them because I don't think they'll weather well and I think they'll drip black goo down my paint job.

My first choice would be nylon, but I can't seem to find any anywhere. Anyone have rubber bushings installed? Any problems? Any source for some good nylon bushings? Any alternative I'm overlooking?

Thanks in advance...

When I had a half-hardtop on my Scrambler, I used shock bushings, the kind that go on the stud-end of shocks. One inside the cab and one outside. There wasn't a problem with weathering, but I suppose you could use poly shock bushings if you didn't want to use rubber.
