Seat height??

HI everyone

I robbed the seats out of my old ego tracker and made some brackets. When I look through the windshield I have to lean forward and look up to see street lights. Can anyone go out and measure the stock seat height for a 75 cj5??

From the floor of the tub to the top of the bottom foam where your butt goes.

Thanks

Better yet prop the seat up on blocks and let your body tell you what optimum height is.
Play with angle and side-side placement as well.
You have to fab brackets anyway, make em what works best.
You will be surprised what an inch here and there will do.

Well that's what I did originally and I seem to be way off! I need a ball park figure to go off of. To get my belly button at the bottom of the steering wheel the drivers seat needs to come down 5 inches. I'm just not sure how these seats were in these things originally to know where I should be placed in the vehicle.

^^Agree with this^^
Use some 1x4 pieces of wood and stack them under the seat bracket until you find what feels best. Then fab something to the same size.

As a starting point, I have 10.5" from the floor pan to the bottom of the cushion. Maybe mock something up at that height and then work from there. If it helps, I am 6'0" and 220 lbs. I am looking to move my seat back about 6 inches, cut into the wheel well, etc but not in these jeezly freezing cold temps. Supposed to be -20 to -26 tonight.
Let me know if you need anything else measured.
Bill

I sit like that in my Jeep every time I drive it and I have stock seats and brackets. I'm 6'1" tall and have the seat back as far as I can go.

Just be sure you don't end up with your knees higher than your shoulders...

Believe me I thought of that! Lol. I called a friend that use to have a 5 he said he had about 7 in b/w the seat tnd the steering wheel to squeeze his legs into. That should put these seats right about at that mark! I figure I can tweak from there!

If for some reason you decide to take out the sliders I am in the market for one.
