Seat Belt Advice!

On my cj7 I am kinda stuck on something, the original retractable lap belts are toast, they sat in the weather for 10 years and are gone. SO i faced with what to do now, on ebay i have found some cheap lap belts that are non retractable, i was thinking about ordering them just to make it legal.

I am wondering what everyone else does for seat belts?

If those race'n belts ain't labeled with DOT compliance, they ain't legal on the road! You can be cited for such when pulled over for anything else.
Make sure all aftermarket belts have a DOT stamp. Most of those cheep Ebay belts are knockoffs and not the real deal.

I'd choose retractable belts. If you don't and ride around without doors, you may be finding yourself stopping and clicking your passenger belt together so it doesn't fall out. And then the tag end flaps around... (please don't ask me how I know...)

Just purchased These from Quadratec. Should be here today or tomorrow. Bought front and rears as mine were getting ratty also. Buy a cheap radio, not cheap seatbelts...

I went with a set of these and am happy.

Like Wind said though, I always make sure the passenger one is clamped and tight because of it flopping around otherwise.

I bought Simpson 5 way. I only use 4 way. When I installed the seat I tilted the bottom up some to help against submarining. Pegasus autoracing has too many things I want for my Jeep and so does Summit racing.

I went by SCCA and SCORE rules to help guide me during the install.

i just got some 3" lap belts off ebay that were from an old huey helicopter. a little nastalgia as i used to do dustoff back in the day. as i live out in the country, the chances of the local leo checking my belt for the right tag is almost zero.
