probably about $250-$300. You'd be better off parting it out if you can

I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring, but it can't be any worse than what I've already been through.

Bring it down to SW Florida. I seen one with rusted out floorboards, rolled, wiring rat nest and every piece of metal dented go for $2500. Depending on how bad it is put it on Craigslist for a grand or obo. Someone will call you.

I'd sure like to see it before you scrap it. Anything you give me off of it, I can replace its weight or more with scrap metal I have.

I think my last scrap run was about $.08 per pound..

Let's say.. $.08 x 3000= $240 ?

Somewhere between $200-$300 would be my guess.

I was able to buy a case of beer when I scrapped my original CJ-7 tub. Weighed 220lbs after scavenging everything off of it I could.

I would have given you $20 and a 6 pack for that tub. Lots of sheet metal I could use on my tub.

But you are in Florida, which is a long way from Pennsylvania.

Thats the key. If you bring the tub and all parts broken down you will get more that if you just bring the whole jeep in one piece.

Clean or dirty refers to the mix of different metals in the scrap. In addition to ferrous and non-ferrous metals, they are "clean" parts such as an all aluminum radiator or an aluminum intake manifold with all the steel plugs/parts/studs/etc removed so its just the aluminum.
Some places will give you more if there are no pieces over 5 feet long.

The place I go to in Ohio goes between $220 & $240 a ton for "sheet metal". This is the random crap that you throw out or vehicles.

Normally they give you better prices for smaller things that are sorted. Like $10 for an alternator or radiator. So it pays to do atleast a rough sort if you are going to scrap something.
