Scrambler questions

A good friend is wanting to sell one of his jeeps. It's a 83 scrambler with a fair amount of rust in the usual places, has some wiring problems, but other than that runs and drives great. He's asking $3,800. Is it worth it and what should be concerned about.

Also, does anyone have any experience replcing body panels on a scrambler?

Whether or not it's worth it depends upon you. Can't see it from here and you gave very minimal info other than the problems. Typically one in decent shape will fetch $6k+. From the firewall back to the just behind the door openings, the body panels are the same as a CJ-7 or YJ. The Scrambler specific panels can be had from an Omix-Ada dealer or Classic Enterprises (CE has the better grade stuff). Pop on over to www.cj-8.com
