You may have to cap things off and re-pressurize and see if you can watch for a leak! Wouldn't think it would be the heater if supply was off and tank was drained. Seems a bit impossible...

Don't see any one working here!

Finally someone working, not Scotty though. Me thinks he likes to act like the BIG BOSS of the boys. Lazy is all it is, ( probably still eating grits. Gross)

I told Scott to just keep it as is, just make sure your aim is good. Or, put a urinal in place of the tub .

There ya go buddy. :-)

Skipper your first venture into Fiber"itch" AKA fiber glass resulted in the Minnow!

So is this project the Minnow 2 or Minnow redux?

Dont you just love it when problem rear their ugly head and become very pressing problems.

The FG itch has been an acquaintance of mine a few times over the years, but I thoroughly dislike removing old glass insulation. It is nasty! I took Beth to Lowe's tonight, and she picked out a new washer, and I got a new 50 gal hot water heater. Most of a $1000 spent this evening, and we haven't bought the shower/tub yet. Our family of 5 has consolidated down to one bathroom! I should have both of the new items installed tomorrow, but it will only be the 2nd time I have ever sweated copper tubing. Let's see what happens!

Peoria Plumbing and Supply has kindly offered a tutorial regarding copper pipe. Thanks to PPS.

Old hot water heater is removed. Mom is making a Man's Breakfast (sorry for all you sub-man boys out there! ). New heater going in after breakfast. Clayton is removing the load of towels that has been sitting in the washer since it died. Forgot about them in lieu of all of the current events. Sour towels STINK! Washer going in affter breakfast, too. Gotta pull the dryer first. Going to remove the stationary tub from the laundry room since it takes up space and it is never used.

The guy who has the motorcycle called me last night and changed his mind. He is NOT selling. So no bike. God has a way of showing you things that are FOR SURE! That door is closed.

Sweating pipes are not my strong point either. At least a leak free connection... I never understood how it wouldn't works, it is so simple. My father replumbed the whole house when they bought the house, so he tried to teach me how to do it when making repairs, but I was never very successful. Now wires on the other hand are a breeze!

I'm with you, Rick. I can do basic wiring. Or even CJ wiring! But sweating pipes... hmmm. I proved it to myself this afternoon. I have spent the entire day connecting a new 50 gallon hot water heater. I watched YT videos galore. Easy, schmeezy. Any idiot can do it. I guess I proved I'm no idiot! Cause I had to do it twice. Thanks to Peoria Plumbing Supply for the Tech help. The owner is one heck of a guy, and he knows his stuff. So all my leaks APPEAR to be fixed. The test will occur tonight. STAY TUNED! Same Bat time. Same Bat channel...

It don't get no better'n this.....

I have to expound.....

I watched an idiot install a hot water heater on YT. Can't believe he did it that way AND made a video about it. His face is all over the world, and he's an IDIOT!! But his pipes didn't leak.

I am sub-human.

Bummer....

One of Scotts Signatures in the past said.

"If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have a electrical problem"

His new one should read, "no beer until the plumbing is leak free"

Hahahaha!!! :-)

I didn't get a text message or phone call at midnight, so it must be ok.
