You made me spit coffee on my iPad! I assumed it was a moped, maybe we need to know what the bike really is?

^^This!! Cheap transportation once you get past purchase price! You ought to have a good portion of the year to ride down there, too! Just watch out for the other yahoos! We don't need Kerr road kill...

Morning, everyone! :coffee:

Yeah... my last bike was a Suzuki GS1100G. Before that, Yamaha RD400. Lots of dual-purpose between there. Never had a cruiser though... not sure I like the style. I started a thread in the general section for comments and opinions. I need feedback. It has 7000 miles, 2005, 1-owner, $3000.

I not sure this bike is big enough for your height. Found these on cycle trader/Honda/1300vtx.com

All of these prices seem way out of line (to me) for a 9 year old bike. So for $3K I would go look at it. I would also deduct for rust, scratches, tire condition ( at 7000 miles they could be the originals) .

Have someone take a picture of you sitting on the bike, then post the picture. I'm afraid you'll look to big on it.

This is a bad picture, but good enough to get a idea. I'm 5'9" , this is on a bike bigger than the 1300.

The bike is "like new" condition. No scratches, never been dropped, etc. The guy just doesn't want it anymore. He's not confident riding at night, and he is a fair-weather rider. So it will sit all winter. It has been sitting for a few months now. He fires it up every couple weeks. He said it started back firing through the carbs, and he dumped in some Lucas. 7000 original miles. He's a lieutenant at work, and a friend. Also, not a big guy. The power band would be fine. Hadn't thought about physical size. Surely, this bike would fit me?? Beth says "maybe".

The back firing could be just bad gas or a filter clogged due to ethanol.

You look like you're having too much fun there, Papa Bill. I'm glad you keep your pack protected. Safety first!

The VTX series aren't at all small bikes, but they do have a low saddle/center of gravity, which makes them look at bit smaller. The 1300 has plenty of go - we're not talking a hot rod, but plenty of go. The foot controls are a bit forward from the factory. That makes it feel pretty good to a tall guy. I have a buddy who is 6'3"-6'4" and likes the way they feel. Kinda like a handgun...just take her for a spin an see how she feels to you! $3000 is more than fair, IMO.

Now we're getting somewhere! Not sure if this model has floor boards or pegs. Not sure of the, uh, appointment? C model? D model? Dunno... Haven't seen it. Don't know what color it is even.

12 second 1/4 mile??

Bill, you look about right on that bike and even though I have never met your wife, I pictured her a bit taller.

Good one Dave!!! Made me smile!!! Actually the helmet is protecting a 6 pack of Shinner. Or was it Rum, I forget.

Skerr, Get off the web and go look at the bike! Crunch some numbers, so Beth knows how cheap it will be for a round trip to work.

I may have some pink leathers you could wear while riding. And a XXsmall helmet for your pimple sized head.
