Replaced the U-joints in my 7. That gave much improvement, but I still have a clunk. I think my pinion bearing is going.

Dropped tire pressure from 50# (WOW!) to 29#. MORE improvement.

Belville washers do not fit a Clifford intake. What did you use? I currently am using extra thick grade 8 washers.

I thought I had a 15 gallon gas tank. I put 14.93 gallons in it. Guess I have a 20 gallon tank!

The 20 gallon hangs a little lower than Clays, and goes from frame rail to frame rail.
24 is what I run in my 31's on the DD, and 22 in the 35's on the "good" jeep.

With "tight" tires it seemed to skate around on the road more. I have better road traction at lower pressure. The PO ran the center tread down quite a bit. I'm getting more consistent wear across the tread pattern now and a LOT more tire hum... which is cool! Thinking about swiping Clay's rims and tires for awhile...

He knows where he sleeps! AND eats! AND gets his clothes washed!! But I'm afraid it isn't worth the work to swap over wheels for a week.

You getting any of this rain?

It has been raining for a couple of days now. A little over 2" so far, with more in the forecast. I slapped the hard doors on this morning, combined with the Texas bikini, and I had water standing on my seat when I left for home. Not copious water, but water just the same. I may have to put the hard top on. And I'm dubious about driving it in the rain for fear of rust going crazy!

Scott, we are getting some of it, but not NEAR what you and my Dad are getting in the N Fl/S Ga metroplex.

And man, did the heat roll in with a bang. H-u-m-i-d!

My wife was saying the other day that she would like to go to Charleston... I told her that I've heard that Charleston has the hottest most humid climate anywhere… any truth to that? Hard to imagine it would be any worse than South Georgia!

Commadore-

I grew up in Folkston, Ga (right in the Okefenokee Swamp), and I can tell you that August in Charleston is like the Mekong Delta. I can walk out my front door and start sweating! Best time to visit is November-May!

Originally for Scotty, but I figured you wouldn't be far behind! We are supposed to get some of Andrea's outer bands after midnight tonight. We lost power last night for about 10 hours. Stay battened down!

You mean this one?

I've had 5 of these but have never parted with this one. Bought it in Waynesville NC in 2002 with 58,000 miles on the clock (for a whopping $3,200.00). She's been a good one! Thanks for the compliment!!

Yeah pman, that one! I'm only a skip from Waynesville. My oldest is 9- when she is 13 or 14 we are going to do a Wag or a FSJ Cherokee for her together. There are a few hanging around up here- I like the top one better. I need to be done with the CJ and the J by then!

I agree! The bottom has serious paneling issues. Replacing the wood decals is a real pain, so that first one looks like a better candidate with a little lovin' on the paint since the clearcoat appears to be shot. Do you ever check the iWanna ads up there? My wife and I use to have a second home in Lake Lure, and I'd comb that paper and find some real gems (including my white one).

Sorry for the hijack, Scott!
