Cool Jeff...
Very true! when we swap the rear and tie up some other stuff it would be technically drivable.

Good luck with the 5!
Thanks, we are going to need all of the luck we can get!

I'm w/243 on the V8. Any V8 w/a rev limiter, of course. Hell a 304 rumbling, and 33's was the only thing that got my acne covered face any dates. Sure as hell wasn't my charm!
BTW, Congrats on raising a kid who doesn't "expect" a New 'Stang/Camaro/'Vette when he turns 16. You're doin' something right! Be very proud.
Thanks! We are going to need all 4 years to get it correct.

I returned home from SC and we had a little work to do.
Sam and I pulled his jeep from the middle of the front yard (his Mother just loved it sitting there!)

Then I started inspecting things for myself.

We will have to replace both front fenders.

The PO told Sam that the Jeep had 35's on it at one time, we could tell.

The floor pans look intact we will find out more when we get it cleaned out and up inside.

The old six fires rite up and has a new 4 core radiator.

.

I like that pic of the two CJ-5's together!

Your sons '5 reminds me of the 'CA to PA in a CJ' Jeep.

I see you all got the Acme HT swapped already too.

He's got some big shoes to fill with this one, as your '5 is very tastefully built!

Looking forward to following your progress!

We pulled the softop and when we placed my acme on his jeep we discovered that it had previously had one on it the holes were there to bolt it down. We put it on Sam's Jeep to store it while I have it off and to close in Sam's jeep from the elements.

The dash is hacked up a little so that will probably get replaced as well.

The PO thought that the Jeep was a Golden Eagle

When the jeep contacted whatever bent up the front fender and bumper it looks like it killed the spring as well. That's ok the huge lift springs are coming off as soon as I find a stock set.

Some pics of Sam and his new girl.

We installed the supertop on my 5.

More to come at a later date!

Good times, Jeff. That pic of Sam leaning on the grill needs to be done in an old time black and white print!! Reminds me of my Grandpa leaning on his old coupe. The pic where he's making muscles reminds me of a redneck Alabama kid who might where boots with shorts!! ooo-oooooooooo... did I say that!?!?

I have always wanted to try and build a set of flat fenders from some OE fenders. If yours are beyond use to someone, I would like to try so I don't ruin a good set. WON'T try it with a good set...

Thank You!

We pushed on a little farther with Sam's Jeep this week.
I was wroking in the Carolinas again this week and when I came home Sam had the fenders off of his jeep.

He likes the looks of it without the the fenders.

We removed the seats and cleaned out the trash and grime that was inside to get a better look at the floor pans.

I finally got Sam to use his toothbrush!

We will have some small places to repair in the rear corners of the body.

Part of the floor pans will have to go as well.

We decided to keep cleaning to get it done before my brother repo's his pressure washer.

The engine was pretty dirty so we started there.

Told my wife there were pics of some old fat guy on her phone!

Isaac was helping too.

Looks like the engine has been re-maned. I believe that this is a re-builder's tag.

Some PO hacks

I can see this turning into a slow frame off.

I guess if I'm gonna do it I may as well do it correctly.

We are going to drop the trans next weekend. I have a T76 that is going in when we find a Dana 300 + skid.

Anyone want to trade a t150 and dana 20 for a 300?
