Rough country shackles

I recently bought my first cj7 jeep and I noticed the shackles on the front are bent. I saw rough country has boomerang shackles, has anyone used these and are there any advantages to using them over standard ones?

As I understand it, the major reason for boomerang shackles is they are supposed to help prevent the shackle from inverting (pivoting inward toward the axle rather than outward). I suppose it can't hurt anything to go with that style, but I can honestly say that in 40+ years of Jeeping, I've yet to see a shackle inverted in person. The main thing I look for is strong construction (something that won't bend like the ones you have now). I like them to be made with 3/8" thick stock and a welded cross-brace. Greaseable bolts are also a big plus.

Yeah I've never seen one invert either. They don't look bad at all and are pretty affordable. I know some people arent fans of rough country products but ive never seen anything wrong with their products.

I think the YJ guys need the booms. Once you go with a lift spring on a YJ there is more of a tendency for the shackle to invert. The booms prevent this. On a CJ they are not really necessary unless they have the look you want.
