Rim Size Future???

Trying to decide on whell/tire direction for our CJ buggy. I run 15" rims on my other 2 rigs, but seems like the market is shifting away from 15s.

I have looked hard at a set of military hummer take offs from trail worthy fab. I do want bead locks. But what sort of options/future does the 16.5 hold?

What would you get if you were wanting to run 38+ tires

I am going to be getting 17's when I switch to D60's. 17's seem to be the current mainstay, if you run tires over 35". Most alloy beadlocks these days seem to be 17's.

17's seem to be the way to go.

Round here 17's are dieing hard, common around here is 18's or 15's. I prefer more side wall myself

35's are still readily available for a 15" rim, but going bigger in a radial is limited these days. The inly thing going for the 16.5 is the availability of used military beadlocks and tires. I've made the switch to 17" Allied beadlocks even though I'm running a 315/70/17 (35 in essence). The option of finding a 37's without hunting when these wear out is what drew me to 17's. And "yes" the price is higher on average for the same tire in a 17 rather then a 15.
