Restoration of my 1947 CJ-2A WILLYS Jeep

OK so this has a cool story behind it. so here goes. So.. .this jeep was given to me by my wife's grandpa. Its been in his family since basically day one. Her grandpas dad bought it for use in their coal mine. Grandpa learned how to drive in this jeep. He met and "Courted" (dated but its his terms) Grandma in this and has all kinds of stories about getting stuck in it so he had a excuse to bring her home late. Then he traded his dad a truck and the jeep was his later in life. He taught my wife's dad how to drive in this and all the boys in family had there fair share of driving it. Her dad was last to drive on road in 1972 he wrecked it T-boned a car. then in the late 70s or early 80s her uncle started to fix up and restore but never completed it at all. so its sat for 30 years. We pulled it out of barn and brought it to my place. now I am restoring it back to some what original. Her dad and grandma have passed away but we want to have it going before her grandpa passes. here's some pics.

I see the frame is red. I assume that is not the original color?
