Republicans Shift Petroleum Exploration Focus From ANWR to My Garage Floor

Do these things ever quit leaking lubricant out of random places?

So far I have done the following on my CJ to stop the leaks:

1. Replaced valve cover gasket twice, cleaned garage floor
2. Replaced rear-main and oil pan gasket, cleaned garage floor
3. Fixed front diff twice and rear diff once, cleaned garage floor
4. Fixed leaking Dana 300 pan gasket, cleaned garage floor
5. etc, etc, etc

I'll be darned if I didn't come home today to find yet another oil spot on the floor. The dang thing now decided it would completely relieve itself of all the steering stabilizer fluid.

It's like trying to house train a puppy.

Anyway, a little Friday CJ owner humor I guess.

Now thats funny . . . . . . .

Yep. . . .Finally got my rear end to stop leaking was embarrasing. Now moving to the front for a rear main and lastely to fix a PO project where he put a new manual oil pressure gage in and dorked up the connector tube to the motor.

CJ life is good.

Mine don't leak, the last leak I fixed was the Power steering gearbox.

If the stabilizer is leaking, it will need to be replaced.
The engines can be sealed up as well as any other. It can be a trick to get the t cases to quite weeping though,,,

It's a Irish Gaelic phrase meaning "kiss my *ss"

I'm still trying to get my TC to stop leaking around the front bearing cover. Had it apart 3 times already and just checked today and found a wet spot again on the skid plate.:

It's not a litter box they need but a diaper like you would see on young children or old dogs.

I recall my valve cover as being an issue, a clifford aluminum that the PO's PO put on but wrong year head & cover and just made it work with some grinding. This of course means no gaskets fit right. I'm embarassed to admit that I used an ENTIRE tube of black permatex in addition to a cork gasket. But it stopped.

I always thought the leaky rear main was a factory installed option... I mean it leaks a quart, put a quart in. hell i never have to change oil again! Self Servicing Rear Main. I was thinking about getting an iv hanger off a hospital wheel chair and mounting it to the jeep with a bag of 10w30 haha

buying stock in rightstuff and liquid copper permatex is a good way to start. also 4.0l with the blue expensive gasketseal beter then a 258 could anyday.

avoiding cork gaskets is key as well

where i park at work it is a oil slick it looks like a drivethrough line in the gheto and a rainbow when it rains
