Ive replaced my ignition cylinder in my 84 cj7, tilt steering, but the key still doesnt have the spring resistance to push the key back once the jeep is started, in other words the key just rolls forward to the start position and stays there, something else is broken and i dont know what it is, any ideas, im just a novice at this jeep stuff, so any help would be great. jeepjockjr

There is a Rack And Pinion that actually moves a rod that moves the ignition switch. maybe the rod fell out or the rack broke.
