replacing the brakes in my 1960 cj5

I need to know if the brakes are 9 inch or 10 inch on my jeep so i can order the parts. I can't get the drum off to measure so if anyone has a trick to get to get it off that would be awesome. I already broke it free with a hammer but can't pull it off and can't pry if off because there is the backing plate all the way around. Or is there something i can look up with the vin number to find out.

Usually you have to come from behind through a slot and turn a star wheel inside to unadjusted them before they come off. They wear a ridge in the drum and adjust into it.

The star wheel slot is located at the bottom center.......a flat head screw driver will turn turns up and way pulls the pads together allowing you to remove the drum and the other will make the pads tight against the drum.

It is gunna cost more and take longer than you thought...plan ahead!
