Replacement windshield recommendations?

I need to replace the windshield on my 83 Scrambler, I have bought 3 used ones off of Ebay and one off of another Jeep sight, none have been ok to use. Rust, damage, etc. Is there a good new replacement frame available? I have heard the fiberglass is not the way to go. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thank you again.

I have no experience with replacement windshield frames, however I have heard that a 'glass frame will crack or even break from a tight-fitting soft-top.

the steel ones you can order thru Quadratec, com or 4WD.com. I get most of my parts at these two catalogs. should run under 200. you will never get a used one that won't have rust rot of some damage. The glass seems always to be cracked too. save yourself the bs and go new.

The steel one from Qadratech worked fine for me. They are rust traps, especially around the bottom edge, and the new ones are reasonable quality. You will struggle to find an original one in good nick and teh fibreglass ones are just not the same.

How long it will then last depends on whether you treat it internally, preferbly to a wax type treatment, and how you treat the areas behind the hinges and along that cowl seal.
Like all vehicles of the era thay may need some adjustment with a BFH before painting.
