Replacement shafts for late 86 Dana 44

Anyone have a source to find replacement axle shafts for the late 86 Dana 44 rear end? I have to look again at which one, but its bent at the flage area. They use to sell them years ago, now its just for the narrow track 44 for older CJs and the TJ units. My only other option is send them off to Moser for a custom set....but that is $$$$$ and I only need the one right now.

I too have to replace 1 axle shaft on the 86 WT dana 44. Mine seems to be slightly bent, and when running at highway speeds, I start leaking oil out of the seal(and all into my drum brakes) i have replaced that seal and bearings twice, before I realized there was a slight wobble in the drivers side rear wheel. could an un-blanced tire or slightly bent rim be the culprit of a leaky seal instead of a bent shaft?
Also, did anyone find out who sells these?
Thanks,
Edwin C

Mine too

I too having the problem with my 86 CJ7 rear WT Dana 44. I have replaced the seals and still they leak on my disk brakes. I dont know what to do about this. Hate having to press off the bearings which in turn destroys it and replacing the seal. Getting expensive. And wrapping a rag around that area sucks. Heys its keeping the fluid off the rotars. Still wants to leak. How can you tell that the axle is bent? Has anyone tried the speedy seals to thicken the area where the seal meets the axle shaft? I need to try something.

Anyone know the exact bearing and seal part numbers for this axle shaft? Allways get the run around when at the parts house. I think for the seal it is National 9912S and the bearing is Timken Set10 or BCA A10.

look in the catalogues (Quadratech or 4wd)to verify that I'm right, but if I remember correctly the outer bearings and seals are the same as for a 97 to 06 TJ with a Dana 44. Somebody please verify this for me before buying the parts.

I ordered my bearings and seals from Morris 4X4 in December. They work fine so far. Seal item # is 83503063 ($3.99 ea.), and bearing item # is 83503064 ($33.99). Here's the link for the entire D44 page. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-ax...ar-cj7-cj8.htm
