Renegade Slotted Aluminum Wheels

I have always liked the look of the original factory "Renegade" slotted wheels.
I realize that I could probably look to the aftermarket, but will the original rims clear the front brake calipers on my 83?
Thanks!

do you mean rims like these?

they were stock on my '79 and i have the renegade package. they're 15x8, so if you find a set they should clear the brakes on your WT axles. mine should also be white, the PO spray painted them that off white color.

cragar makes some similar rims, the Nomad I rims. only difference you can see is the stock Jeep rims have a tapered cutout around the holes or "windows" and the cragar's don't.

just reread your post and realized you were asking about the aluminum rims, so never mind to my post above.

I had a set from a mid 70s Cj and tried to put them on my 3a (79 disk brake dana 30) and they hit the calaper but someone on here said they had to grind down the calaper down just a little and they work. They were 8 x15

assuming you mean the ones in the lower right corner of this ad, I do believe they were 15x7s

yeah I occasionally find sets of 4, but want all 5 for my 74 renegade.

it's discouraging and what causes me to vacillate is they are 15x7, and I'm up to 33s on 15x10 now....

there are a set of 4 on ebay now, but I couldn't get the seller to send me additional pics or any other info, they ignored my email. I can send you the link if you want maybe you will fair better.

he wants 549 or best offer, 100 to ship, and it's 4 rims.
unsold for months..........

Take a look in the for sale section. $300 for four with another guy offering a single.

If I am not mistaken, the set of four went for almost 600.00 on Ebay.

If I was restoring a CJ5 Renegade, this would be small potatoes in the soup pot.

I paid 150.00 for a set of five plus a 200 mile roundtrip drive. Once I arrived, I found they were going to need more work than I had planned for. I still bought them, if I find a better set I will sell mine on Ebay.

I love these wheels as well. I purchased a set of 5 for $300 and then had them polished for another $300. I mounted them with 32x11.50 bfg mud. They are a little thin especially for a narrow trac but they look great.
