Yeah... I just prefer to flush my system with MaxGear before the final fill with Synchromax...

I am going to go ahead and hook up the engine side of the painless wiring harness. First step was to get the sensors back in less the knock sensor and temp sender to the computer. I will run the CTO (for the purge signal to the cannister), temp sender to guage, manifold heater sensor, oil pressure sender, and oil pressure (warning light?). Here they are.
![]() ![]() ![]() I am also running into a problem with the throttle linkage and the brake booster fitting. ![]() You can see that the fitting is interfering with the rotation of the linkage even after I have filed off a little bit of brass. I can potentially grind off a little bit of the linkage and make it work, but I was wondering if there might be a vacuum port off of the carb that would pull manifold vacuum from underneath the throttle plate. Maybe this one? ![]() If there are any MC2100 guru's out there I would appreciate the input. If neither of my fixes work, I might be looking for a slimmer fitting.

you could also put a larger (thicker) spacer underneath the Carb and that would probably fix your linkage issues. just a thought though. good luck this build is amazing i am doing the same thing to my 1970 CJ5 and i am very impressed with your attention to detail and how good everything looks! keep up the good work .

I think you could just trim the bottom of the throttle bracket? I had to bend the same part on my Commando up to allow for full movement- eventually I'll just trim it off.

Exactly what I did. My MC2100 linkage contacted in the same place. 1 second with the cutoff wheel and good to go.

The only reason I have not sliced it up already is that the adapter that I have bolted to the linkage is attached right at the very bottom where I would cut it off at. In other words, I would be cutting out one of the bolt holes. Surely I can find another decent location to bolt to.

Great thread BTW. Nice Build. Question about your welder
I have a quick question for you. I am looking into buying a welder for my shop before I start my resto. What welder are you using in your shop for this project? Would you choose a different one if you had to do it again, or is this one good for what you use it for? Thanks!

On mine I cut right at that 90* bend to take the "tab" off for lack off a better term. That piece on mine did affect the pull-down bracket that was added. I also had to take my grinder and round the edges on the add-on piece shown.

Problem solved!! I took a little bit off of the linkage with a grinder and it is working like a champ.
![]() ![]() I also made up my spark plug wires. Pretty easy. I had never made up wires before and it was kind of nice to be able to make up custom lengths (and know that I have some good wire behind the MSD ignition module and blaster coil). The engine electrical will be together soon. ![]() ![]() pwa_fcva, I looked at the picture you posted in amazement thinking how very much identical your setup was to mine, until I realized it was mine! The picture is a little bit misleading in that if I were to cut at the line you show I would have cut off the little curved tab of steel that the pull-down bracket is screwed into. I just ended up shaving a bit off with the old trusty angle grinder. valkadesh, stop by anytime. Other than the 60+ hours a week of work, I am working on the jeep most of the time. reedler, it is a Lincoln Electric Pro Mig 140 and I have been very pleased with it so far. No problems, works every time, can run both flux core and solid core with CO2/argon mix. If you are looking to do anything more stout than autobody welding, then you might want one a little bit bigger, but I have an old stick welder for the heavy duty stuff. Now the only thing I am just slightly concerned about is the clearance I have after grinding the linkage back. If things get hot and the metal expands will it grow enough to stick? Hate to find out the hard way. Hoss, do you have a pull down adapter for your linkage?
