Relocate Ignition Switch

As part of my restoration, I am considering purchasing this Flaming River steering column.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fla-fr20005

For this column, I will have to relocate the ignition key/switch to the dash... Or maybe somewhere else. I am even considering some sort of theft proof ignition switch combination with a switch or a series of switches in different locations before the ignition will work... Like in a locked Tuffy console... Or something like that.

Anyone ever done something like this?

Thanks,

Rob

Did it on one of my hot rods, I went keyless by using a push button starter button from a '45 merc and had a knob that resembled one of my other knobs on the dash for ignition. Wouldn't start unless you had the fake knob turned on. I did keep the old ignition key in place but back then you could turn most with a screw driver so I guess it was an old school theft prevention device.

I used a marine grade brass ignition switch on the dash of one of my Jeeps years ago. Worked great.
