So here's the latest gents. I called the machinist, he apologized and ordered my new bearings. I picked them up today, installed them and it turns like a champ. The clearances were within .0019 and .0022 so I swapped them around a little and now I'm at .0021 to .023 which is exactly what I was looking for. Everything's torqued and now on to the valves, heads etc. Thanks again for all your help guys

Nice job figuring things out for yourself, dude. You were a breath away from a spun bearing. I wouldn't want to be that close!
