Rear bumper with tire carrier. Which of these is better and why?

I am looking at getting a rear bumper and tire carrier combo. The brands I can find are as follows and are all "close" to the same price and all look almost identical in photos. Anyone with info (both good and bad) on any of these.

Smittybuilt
Ground Pounder
Wilderness
Warn
Bestop
Hanson
RockHard
LOD Offroad

Thanks!

I only have experience with my Treks setup, but I've heard great things about BESRK's (Ground Pounder) bumper and tire carrier. What's your budget?

The lower the price the better. However, i have a budget of up to $1,000 if needed.

if you can go as high as $1000...get the BESRK (GroundPounderFab) rear bumper, fully loaded (frame tie-ins, hilift jack holder, etc) mine was well less than $1000 shipped and the worksmanship is first rate! He also sends very easy to follow instructions for installation and painting. My girlfriend even commented that she probably could have installed it, the instructions were so simple.

His customer service is fantastic too, not that I had to do much with him after it was delivered.

I have the Garvin Wilderness system on my '85 CJ7. It's is solid! If you're thinking about other accessories later, I know the Wilderness system will accommodate fuel cans, cargo rack, hi-lift jack, tools, etc...

I can't speak for the other systems, but I'm really happy with mine.

Hey Kryptae,

Where did you get the Receiver hitch extension for your Yakima rack? I'm about to get a similar bike carrier and will need an extension I'm sure to get it out past my 35" spare

Sorry about the threadjack...continue on..

I'm real happy with the Rockhard. $700ish, frame tie-ins and all.

Is there a web page anywhere about BESRK's bumper. I am not able to find any info about it in this forum or on Google either other than a few pictures here and there. I would just like to know what the options are and what it costs.

I think you have to PM him for the options and prices. He sent them to me but I will leave it up to him if he wants them posted. Here is the long thread about his bumper and the changes he has made along the way.

Thanks for the kind words and cudos!! I try not to pimp my bumpers in open forum since I'm a Moderator (I also have a Vendor Account) but I'll throw some info out there.

At the moment, my current lead time is pretty long.. about 6 weeks from payment to shipping. I work M-F at my dayjob as a Defense Contractor. However, I still get 40+ hours per week in at my shop.. working nights and weekends.

My Basic Rear Bumper w/Tire Carrier (includes 2" receiver and a pair of shackle mounts) is $499 plus shipping.. ships bare steel.

Options:
Bolt On Hi Lift Mount... $30
Bolt On Gas Can Mount.. $70 (includes red Blitz Base)
Lower Corner Protectors.. $50 (mainly for the LJs and CJ8s)
Antenna Mount.. $5
Frame Tie In Kit.. $30

I can be contact here via PM or emailed at GROUNDPOUNDERFAB@VERIZON.NET. I check/answer all messages every morning and evening.. 7 days a week. I can supply pics or more specific info via email.

Okay.. end of pimp session.
