rear bumper

Has anyone used a 2x5 1/4 inch square tubing for a rear bumper? Somebode gave me a piece and I welded in a receiver hitch but it just seems heavy for the frame. I know they're not the strongest frames in the world and I was wondering if anyone had something similiar.

I am going to use 2x5 3/16" wall for my rear bumper. I was going to make it tie into the frame with some shackle mounts and have it bolt to the body mounts similar to one I saw on www.jeepfabrication.com. I don't think that it will be too heavy with frame tie in's.

Here's mine made from 2" X 4" X .120" wall rect. tube. I made a new 4" X 3/8" thick crossmember to bolt it to. It's a very strong unit.

That should be the right address. I have been having problems getting on their site lately.
