It really can happen!!

I've always taken these stories with a grain of salt, but now I've got my own!

Last week my dad calls me out of the blue and says a woman he works with told him that her husband was selling a 1953 Willy's for $1000.00. I stopped by the house when no one was home and there sits a completely stock 1953 CJ3B with NO rust on the body or frame! Later I went over and met with the guy and he explains that he's owned it since the mid 60's and it has always been covered in a barn or stored in a heated garage. His family only used it on a farm to mow a field (it has the rear PTO shaft) and to haul deer out of the woods during hunting season. It still has a 1971 PA Inspection sticker on the windshield. It needs a tailgate (it didn't have it when he bought it) and a new master cylinder, but other than that it's in great shape.

Needless to say I'm the proud new owner of a FLATTIE. Damn I've always wanted one.

Don't worry, I'll be posting pics as soon as I pick it up!!!!

Awesome! Always good to hear when someone stumbles across a killer deal on an old Jeep.

Dang good deal! It is hard to find those "I had it in the barn" vehicles! So... What are your plans? restore, beefy offroader, or just a conventional jeep? At 1k you cant go wrong with any of them! ~CONGRATS~
